Flywoo Firefly Baby Quad is a 80mm cross frame quadcopter which weights only 47 grams. The best thing of this quad is that, even if it is so small, it is able to carry an HD camera like the SMO 4K, a naked GoPro or the Caddx Peanut enabling the possibility to record cinematic footage with a tiny drone in both indoor and outdoor environments.
Flywoo Firefly Baby Quad comes in two versions: Flywoo Firefly Baby Quad Analog and Flywoo Firefly Baby Quad Digital. Of course, the difference stands in the FPV video transmission systems equipped which influences video quality and weight.
In this article analog version is presented, which is less expensive and lighter.
Analog version comes with 3 different possibilities for the receiver:

Specifications and features
Main specs and features characterizing the Flywoo Firefly Baby Quad are reported below and they will be analyzed in the next paragraphs:
FPV Camera
Flywoo Firefly Baby Quad is equipped with Caddx Ant FPV camera. Caddx Ant features a 1/3” CMOS Sensor 1.8mm lens with horizontal resolution of 1200 TVL. This camera is pretty lightweight (weight is 2 grams) and offers a good video quality.
Motors and Propellers
Motors are the brushless Flywoo ROBO 1202.5 5500KV developed to work at best with 4S LiPo batteries. They have a 1.5mm shaft and they are combined with HQ 40mm 4-blades propellers: it is a good idea to buy some spare props, especially if we are planning to fly without prop guards on.
FC, ESCs and VTX
Flywoo Firefly Baby Quad mounts the GOKU F411 16x16 STACK which supports up to 4S LiPo batteries. It features the STM32F411 chip and has black box capabilities and this is a nice feature that is not easy to find in small size drones.
The flight controller also comes with a pre-soldered capacitor to handle voltage sags.
Of course, it has Betaflight firmware loaded on and the drone flies already well with default configuration.
Video signal is transmitted through the GOKU VTX625 which is a nano VTX with U.FL connector that can reach a maximum power output of 450mW that is switchable and can be set at the following values: 25/50/100/200/450mW (PIT mode is also available).
This VTX has a versatile design and can be adapted to the following type of stacks thanks to the possibility to change board mounting holes configuration: 16x16, 20x20 and 26x26.
Battery
The presence of rubberized mat on the bottom plate and the use of anti-slippery battery strap offer a good grip surface for the battery, so it is well secured in place.
Two possible choices for the 4S LiPo batteries, representing also the recommended ones by the manufacturer, are the following:
They have both XT30 connectors, which is the same located one the quad.
Additional accessories
The quad comes with the SMO 4K cable plug pre-soldered on the flight controller, so if you want to connect a naked GoPro you have to use your own adapter.
HD camera mounts are available for the following HD camera models:
Conclusions
Flywoo Firefly Baby Quad is a very nice little quad which can be used both indoor and outdoor. This drone, even with an HD camera on it, has a final weight that is well under 250g, which as we know is a good feature considering European regulations from EASA.
The only thing to be aware of is that when an HD camera is mounted on we can no more fly aggressive freestyle because even if the motors are powerful, they cannot handle hard maneuvers with that additional weight. So, with an HD camera on, the Flywoo Firefly Baby Quad is more suited to produce cinematic FPV videos than aggressive freestyle footage.
