Navigation lights are used in real aircrafts to signal their presence and give information about position and orientation, especially when fog is present or in night time. Red light identifies the left side of the aircraft, while green light is for the left one. The white light identifies the rear.
This is why in this article we are going to take a look at URUAV SL03 Wireless Navigation Lights, i.e. navigation lights designed for RC aircrafts.

These lights are suitable for fixed wing, UAV or other type of aircrafts.
Charger
The package includes a 4-in-1 charger so it it possible to charge up to four lights at a time:
On the charger, the red light indicates the charging status, and the blue light indicates when battery is fully charged.
When the charging, if the cable is accidentally reversed, the red light of the charger will also light up. Reversing the connection for a short time will not damage the light, but it will cause the internal electronic components of the light to heat up (the battery will not be damaged nor heat). However, if this happens for long times, the light element will be damaged.
Moreover, pay attention to the positive and negative poles when charging: if they are connected in the wrong way, this will damage the device.
URUAV SL03 Wireless Navigation Lights use high-quality small LiPo battery with low-voltage protection function, effectively extending battery life. The efficient power saving design allows to use the lights continuously for more than 3 hours.
Since the lights can be charged through USB port, it is also possible to use a power bank to charge them.
Working modes
The lights have four flashing modes: double flash, flash quickly, safe flashing mode, breathing light mode (this is the one I prefer). To set each mode just press the white button on the side of the light and each mode will be activated in sequence. Finally,the fifth click just power off the light.
Mounting on the aircraft
As shown in the images, instead of using the included 3M double-sided adhesive tape, I opted for attaching adhesive velcro on each light, so I can use them on multiple aircrafts just by attaching the other part of the velcro on the desired mounting points of the aircraft.
Conclusions
URUAV SL03 Wireless Navigation Lights are very bright. They do their job very nicely and they work for a very long amount of time with a single charge. They are a nice addition and they surely increase the visibility of the aircraft in the sky.
